Istanbul Princes’ Islands is a general name given to 4 different islands that attract attention with their calm and peaceful structure. These islands are; Büyükada, Heybeliada, Burgazada and Kınalıada. Each of them has its own unique places to visit.
1) Büyükada
When you get off the ferry at the Büyükada pier, you will find yourself on an authentic beach. Do not forget to take a few photos here and add them to your memory list. Afterwards, you can take your ice cream and go for a walk. However, you can also rent a bicycle and turn your island trip into a sporting activity. We have created a tour map consisting of the places you will definitely want to see in the Büyükada tour. Büyükada is a must see place among the Princes’ Islands of Istanbul
Aya Yorgi Church is among the most visited places culturally. It is a Church where Christians come intensively, especially during Easter Holiday. Aya Yorgi Church, together with the Church of the Virgin Mary in Ephesus, has a special importance for the Christian religion. It is an important stop for the pilgrimage rituals of Christians.
The church, which was built in 1751, has an aesthetic architecture. It is necessary to climb a steep slope to reach the church. You can get out here by hiking or you can easily reach it by electric phaetons. There is no fee for entrance to Aya Yorgi Church on our tour.
Museum of the Princes’ Islands; Büyükada is an important stop that must be seen during our trip. In addition to the Museum of the Islands, we would like to add a few more places that can be seen on Büyükada. Reşat Nuri Güntekin’s house, the Anatolian Club yacht center where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk went and Hamidiye Mosque are among the places we can add to your route.
2) Heybeliada
The island’s ice cream shop is a popular spot. At the same time, if you want to swim in the sea, there are beautiful beaches.
The island, whose Greek name is Halki, is home to an Orthodox Seminary founded in 1844. Together with the Monastery of the Holy Trinity right next to it, these two works have caused various debates between Turkey and Greece in history. Afterwards, an agreement was reached and the Seminary continued its activities. During the tour, our guide will accompany you with its detailed story.
İnönü House Museum, Naval School, and Aya Nikola Church are among the characteristic values of Heybeliada. With its historical background Heybeliada is so much different than the other Princes’ Islands of Istanbul.
3) Burgazada
Burgazada has a special story of its name. It takes its name from the castle built by Demetrius, who ruled this region of the kingdom after the death of Alexander the Great. The famous short story writer Sait Faik Abasıyanık was inspired by this island for many years and lived here.
Aya Yani Church, Aya Yorgi Garibi Monastery and Marta Bay are the places where you can have a pleasant time on the island.
